Safer Internet Day 2021: Ways for schools and other settings to celebrate remotely

19 Jan 2021 Becca Cawthorne

This Safer Internet Day we want to support all settings and young people in exploring the theme, ‘An internet we trust: exploring reliability in the online world.’

With many young people now learning remotely, we have produced four documents giving an overview of the exciting resources available. This means all young people can join in the celebrations for Safer Internet Day, wherever they are.

In November 2020 we launched our free Safer Internet Day Educational Resources.

Free to download, these resources look at the topic of reliability online, and the ways that young people can tell fact from fiction whilst spending time on the internet.

Available in English and Welsh, the resources have been created to be used by educators across the UK, to help children and young people aged 3-18 learn about online safety issues.

Now educators can also access additional guidance on how to easily adapt and deliver the resources to support young people of different ages who are learning remotely:

In addition to the educational resources, educators may also like to make use of other resources provided by the UK Safer Internet Centre, including the Safer Internet Day 2021 interactive quiz, the Safer Internet Day 2021 films and the resource pack for parents and carers.

Other ways to get involved in the day
