National Youth Events

On Safer Internet Day the #Up2Us Film was premiered at four events across the UK attended by young people involved in the filming, government ministers and other key stakeholders. 

England

Over 150 guests attended the event at Microsoft’s offices which featured a youth panel chaired by young stars Molly and Harvey, where young people from Rockmount Primary School, Hampstead School and Queen Elizabeth’s School shared their perspectives on friendship in a digital age, and their insights into how we can create a kinder online community. 

Wales

In Wales, the film was premiered at All Saint’s Primary School in Barry, where the young people involved in the filming from both All Saint’s Primary and Sandfields Comprehensive School in Port Talbot, met with Welsh Government Deputy Minister for Technology, Julie James and UKSIC representatives to discuss how we can all create a better internet. 

Scotland

In Scotland, Fiona McLeod MSP, Acting Minister for Children and Young people, and UKSIC representatives attended the film premiere at Langlees Primary School in Falkirk and met with the young people involved in the filming.

Northern Ireland

In Northern Ireland, Junior Ministers McCann and Bell and UKSIC Director David Wright visited Ballyclare High School and Fairview Primary School to meet with the young people involved in the #Up2Us Film.
