Beth Tweddle is supporting Safer Internet Day
Former Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle is adding her support to Safer Internet Day again this year.
It is the fourth year running that the star has got behind Safer Internet Day, organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre, after experiencing trolling on social media and deciding she wanted to do something to help support young people who may face similar experiences.
“The internet is a great place and everyone should feel able to be themselves online. That’s why it’s up to all of us to play our part in creating a kinder and better internet. If you see someone saying mean or offensive things or bullying someone online, don’t suffer in silence – it’s important to tell someone, a friend or a trusted adult. Look out for each other and make sure you know how to block and report on social media.”
She joins hundreds of schools and organisations across the UK in adding her support to the campaign, which is the UK’s largest campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology.
