Moshi Monsters is an online social game popular with 6-12 year olds that allows children to choose, customise and nurture a pet monster. Children can play games, solve puzzles and explore Monstro City with their pet. There are a range of safety features and advice available.

Safety tools
There are a number of safety features on Moshi Monsters:
- Report: You can report to a moderator by clicking on the 'M’ button on any pinboard post. You can also use the ‘Report’ button in the Forums, or Contact Us at the bottom of every page.
- Moderation: Moshi Monsters has human moderators, who use technical moderation tools, such as monitoring software which review and prioritise every message. They also use a 'whitelist' filter, which is a list of approved words that players can say.
- Block: stop someone from contacting you or sending you a friend request by clicking the block button on the 'friends tree' within the game.

No age restrictions, but parents' email needed
When users, including children under 16, register and create a monster on Moshimonsters.com, Big Bad Bill Inc. asks them to select a name for their monster, a screen name (also referred to as a monster owner name), and a password; and to provide his or her parent or guardian's email address for children under 16, the child's birth date, gender, and country of residence. Users 16 or older will provide their own email address. In the interactive community features, no additional personally identifying information is required.
